Dr. Hua NAN, doctoral supervisor, head of mining engineering department, Henan Polytechnic University (HPU), China, is a professor in mining engineering program. He is also director of Henan Provincial International United Laboratory on Coal Mine Ground Control. In 2008-2009, as a visiting scholar, he ever studied in Department of Mining Engineering under the guidance of Dr. Syd. Peng in West Virginia University, U.S.A. He received his PhD degree from HPU in 2009.

He has supervised more than 30 researches and consulting projects from National Natural Science Foundation and Coal Group Companies and etc. and gained 6 Prize on Science and Technology. He authored and co-authored 8 books and more than 40 journals and proceedings papers in the areas of mining science and technology. Also he was awarded 6 patents of national invention as the first inventor.

Research interests: mainly on Safe and efficient mining of coal mine.
