Yuning SUN, male, the Han nationality, was born in Luoyang in 1963. He obtained his doctorate from Henan Polytechnic University, and now is a professor (second grade) as well as a doctoral advisor. He is the director of state and local joint engineering laboratory for gas drainage and ground control of deep mines.

Prof. Sun focuses his research on coal seam gas drainage and has presided over more than 20 research projects, incorporating National Science and Technology Support Program of China, the Key Project of Science and Technology of the Henan Province and the technical development projects entrusted by enterprises. Either a first or second winner, Prof. Sun won the National Science and Technology Progress Award (second grade), two provincial level first prizes, seven provincial level second prizes. He has published more than 60 papers, 9 of which are included in Ei Compendex database and he has attained over 20 technical invention of patent. He has obtained the tittles of honor, including “Outstanding innovative talents in Henan Province”, “Henan May 1st Labor Medal Winner” and “Civilized teachers in Henan Province”.
