Xiaoxiang CHEN is a Associate Professor and master supervisor of School of Energy Science and Engineering, Henan Polytechnic University (HPU), China. He received his master degree in 2004 and PhD in 2007 from China University of Mining and Technology. His main research direction is the roadway rock control and special geotechnical construction technology, and he has long been engaged in geotechnical engineering numerical simulation technology application research.

Dr. CHEN presided over one National Natural Science Fund project, and participated in three National Natural Science Fund projects as an important member. He presided over the enterprise commissioned more than 70 research projects. and gained 8 Provincial Prize on Science and Technology. He authored 10 patents and more than 20 journals and proceedings papers in controlling roadway surrounding rock.
