Tongqiang Xiao is an associate professor and supervisor of postgraduate in School of Energy Science and Engineering. He obtained his PhD in Mining Engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology, and has worked as a mining engineer and research scientist ever since.

Over the course of his career, Associate Professor Xiao has mainly engaged in the research on the theory and technology of mining pressure, strata control, and roadway support. In recent years, he chaired or participated in more than twenty research projects supported by national, provincial or coal enterprises’ fund. Among them, five projects were awarded the provincial prize. He has published more than thirty papers in professional journals.

Current research interests:

Theoretical and technical research in surrounding rock control of roadway.
